The mobile belt conveyor is a flexible, relocatable continuous conveying system that can be easily moved without the need for a poured concrete foundation, making it ideal for operations requiring frequent changes to loading and unloading locations. Capable of both horizontal and inclined transport, the unit features a customizable length ranging from 5 to 20 meters. These conveyors are available in two main categories: adjustable-height and fixed-height models. Structural composition of the equipment
The main components of a mobile belt conveyor include the frame, conveyor belt, drive unit, idlers, and pulleys.
(I) Frame: Features a steel tube structure that is lightweight, aesthetically pleasing, and highly mobile. The frame consists of the main body and support legs.
(II) Travel mechanism: Equipped with pneumatic tires and steel wheels at the base; some models also feature swivel casters.
(III) Lifting mechanism: Available in electric and manual lifting versions. This function allows the discharge end position to be flexibly adjusted according to loading and unloading heights.
(IV) Conveyor belt: The component that carries and conveys the material.
(V) Idlers and pulleys: Includes upper and lower idlers, drive pulleys, and bend/return pulleys.
(VI) Drive unit: Powered by a motorized pulley.
Application scope of the equipment
Mobile belt conveyors are widely used in scenarios requiring frequent relocation of operations. Specific applications include cargo loading and unloading at ports, terminals, and stations; the transport of coal and ore at coal yards and mines; the transfer of sand and gravel at construction sites and aggregate yards; material handling in warehouses and factories; the transport of raw materials and finished products at fertilizer and feed processing plants; material transfer for organic fertilizer production lines; and the transport of feed and fertilizer on farms and at livestock facilities. This equipment is suitable for temporary operations where the project duration is less than three months and the work location changes more than three times per month.
Types of usable raw materials
This equipment is suitable for conveying materials with a bulk density of less than 1.67 t/m³. Conveyable bulk materials include coal, crushed stone, sand, cement, chemical fertilizers, grain, ore, fly ash, etc. Conveyable packaged items consist of bagged goods weighing up to 100 kg per unit. The temperature of the conveyed material must be below 60°C.
The working principle of the equipment
The working principle of a mobile belt conveyor is as follows: it is a conveying machine in which the conveyor belt—supported by upper and lower idlers—serves as both the load-bearing and traction element, looping around the head and tail pulleys to form a closed circuit. The drive unit provides power, transmitting it through friction between the drive pulley and the conveyor belt to drive the belt in continuous operation. Material is loaded onto the belt at the feed end and transported to the discharge end for unloading.
How to operate the equipment
(I) Pre-operation checks: Inspect all equipment components for integrity, check the conveyor belt for damage, and ensure idler rollers rotate freely. Verify that travel wheels and swivel casters are functioning correctly and that the lifting mechanism operates smoothly and reliably. Confirm correct power connections and proper grounding.
(II) No-load startup: Start the equipment without a load and ensure it is running normally before feeding material. Starting the machine while loaded is strictly prohibited to prevent motor burnout due to overload.
(III) Uniform feeding: Ensure material is fed regularly and evenly to avoid overloading. During operation, monitor the conveyor belt to ensure smooth movement and check for any belt misalignment.
(IV) Shutdown procedure: Stop feeding material before shutting down the machine; cut off the power only after all material has been fully discharged from the belt. Riding on the conveyor is strictly prohibited.
Equipment maintenance methods
(I) Routine Maintenance: Clean residual material and dust from the equipment after each work shift. Inspect the conveyor belt for damage and check joints for looseness. Check the lubrication status of roller bearings and replenish grease promptly.
(II) Periodic Maintenance: Tighten bolts and nuts monthly to prevent loosening due to vibration. Regularly inspect idlers and other components, replacing any that are damaged. Calibrate the pressure valves of the hydraulic lifting system on a quarterly basis.
(III) Lubrication Management: Add lubricating oil regularly to ensure proper bearing lubrication. Apply grease to conveyor belt roller bearings at regular intervals.
