The choice between a organic fertilizer double axis mixer and a horizontal fertilizer mixer primarily depends on the characteristics of the raw materials, the required mixing uniformity, and the production capacity.  The two types of mixers differ significantly in their mixing principles and applicable scenarios.

Twin-shaft mixers utilize two parallel rotating shafts with blades to mix materials. During mixing, the materials are subjected to strong shearing and tumbling, efficiently handling organic materials with high moisture content (25%-40%) and high viscosity, such as composted livestock manure and biogas residue, without problems like shaft sticking or clumping. They offer high mixing efficiency and are suitable for the raw material conditioning process at the front end of medium- and large-scale organic fertilizer production lines. The equipment structure is robust and has a low failure rate, but the energy consumption is relatively high, and the uniformity of the mixed material is moderate, making it difficult to meet high-precision proportioning requirements.

Horizontal mixers are mostly single-shaft ribbon-type structures. They achieve material mixing through the pushing and reversing motion of the ribbon, resulting in a gentle mixing process without dead zones. The mixing uniformity is significantly higher than that of twin-shaft mixers, making them ideal for the blending process of organic-inorganic compound fertilizers, especially in scenarios requiring high precision in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium ratios. They are suitable for raw materials with relatively lower moisture content (15%-30%). If processing highly viscous materials, clumping and insufficient mixing may occur.  The equipment capacity spans a wide range, from small laboratory-scale equipment to large-scale npk blending fertilizer production lines, offering more flexibility in initial investment and operating costs.
