Manure is rich in organic matter and nutrients needed by crops, it plays a good role in increasing crop yields and improving soil fertility, it has been widely used in agricultural production.

The main components of livestock and poultry manure are cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, protein and its decomposition components, fat, organic acids, enzymes and various inorganic salts.

 

Pig manure contains 15% organic matter, 0.5% nitrogen, 0.5%-0.6% phosphorus and 0.35-0.45% potassium. Pig manure has a fine texture and complex composition, including protein, fat, organic acid, cellulose, hemicelllose and inorganic salt. Because of more nitrogen, the proportion of carbon and nitrogen is small, about 14:1, which is generally easy to be decomposed by microbes, releasing nutrients that can be absorbed and utilized by the crops.

 

Pig manure contains the highest content of humus, the highest substitution rate, the strongest fertility, but the more water content, the less cellulose decomposing bacteria. The application of mixed small amount of horse manure to inoculate cellulose decomposing bacteria can greatly increase the fertilizer efficiency. 

The cow dung contains 14.5% organic matter, 0.30-0.45% nitrogen, 0.15%-0.25% phosphorus and 0.10-0.15% potassium. Organic matter and nutrient content in various livestock is low, the texture is fine, the moisture content is more, the decomposition is slow, the heat is low, belong to the slow acting fertilizer.

 

Because of high water content, poor ventilation and difficult decomposition of organic matter in cow dung, it is cold fertilizer.

 

 

Horse manure contains 21% organic matter, 0.4-0.5% nitrogen, 0.2-0.3% phosphorus and 0.35-0.45% potassium. The content of cellulose and hemicellulose in horse manure is more, in addition, it also contains lignin, protein, fat , organic acid and a variety of inorganic salts.

 

The moisture in horse manure is easy to evaporate, and it contains more fiber decomposing bacteria, it is a hot fertilizer, the application of horse manure can improve the properties of clay.

Sheep manure contains 24-27% organic matter, 0.7-0.8% nitrogen, 0.45-0.6% phosphorus and 0.4-0.5% potassium. Sheep manure contains more organic matter than other livestock manure, the quality of fertilizer is fine and rich.

The heat of sheep manure is between the horse manure and cow dung, also is hot fertilizer, also known as the warm fertilizer application in sandy soil and clay soil, good effect.

 

The poultry manure contains 25.5% organic matter, 1.63% nitrogen, 1.54% phosphorus, 0.85% potassium, 11% carbohydrates, 7% fiber, and high moisture content is fresh poultry manure.

Poultry manure (chicken manure, duck manure, goose manure, pigeon dung, etc.) in nitrogen is uric acid fraction, uric acid can not be directly absorbed by crops, but also harmful to crop root growth, at the same time, fresh poultry manure is easy to attract the underground pests.
