The essential nutrient elements of npk are the necessary elements for growth and development of crop. more than 70 kinds of nutrient elements have been discovered in the plant, but not all but not all of them are essential nutrients. According to the study, there are 16 kinds of essential nutrients: carbon, hydrogen , oxygen , nitrogen , potassium , phosphorus , calcium , magnesium , sulphur , iron , manganese, zinc, boron, molybdenum, copper and chlorine.

The main types of nitrogen fertilizer are as follows:
 (1) Ammonium nitrogen fertilizer: ammonium sulfate, ammonium chloride, ammonium bicarbonate, ammonia and liquid ammonia;
(2) Nitrate nitrogen fertilizer: sodium nitrate and calcium nitrate;
(3) Ammonium nitrate nitrogen fertilizer: ammonium nitrate, calcium ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate;
(4) Amide nitrogen fertilizer: urea, calcium cyanamide (lime nitrogen). 
The main types of phosphate fertilizer are as follows:
 (1) Water-soluble phosphate fertilizer.There are common calcium superphosphate, heavy calcium superphosphate and ammonium phosphate (ammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate).
(2) Miscible phosphate fertilizer.Refers to nitric acid phosphate fertilizer, also is a kind of nitrogen phosphorus binary compound fertilizer.
(3) Arrest soluble phosphate fertilizer.Including calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer, calcium phosphate phosphate, precipitation phosphate fertilizer and steel slag phosphate fertilizer.
(4) Insoluble phosphate fertilizer.Such as phosphate mineral powder, bone powder and phosphorous sea guano, only soluble in strong acid, insoluble in water.
Taking potassium as the main nutrient fertilizer, potassium generally accounts for 0.2%~4.1% of the dry matter weight.During plant growth and development, potassium is involved in the activation of more than 60 enzyme systems, photosynthesis, transport of assimilates, metabolism of carbohydrates and synthesis of proteins.

 What are the characteristics of common phosphorus fertilizer varieties?
(1) Water-soluble phosphate fertilizer is suitable for various soils and crops, but is best used in neutral and calcareous soils. Ammonium phosphate is a nitrogen and phosphorus binary compound fertilizer, and the content of phosphorus is high, which is 3 ~ 4 times of nitrogen. When applied, most crops, except legumes, must be applied with nitrogen fertilizer directly, and the proportion of nitrogen and phosphorus should be adjusted.
(2) Miscible phosphate fertilizer is most suitable for use in dry land, and it can easily cause denitrification loss in paddy field and acid soil.
(3) Detained soluble phosphate is insoluble in water, but can be dissolved by weak acids in soil, which is then absorbed and utilized by crops.In calcareous alkaline soil, combined with calcium in soil, the conversion towards insoluble phosphoric acid reduces the availability of phosphorus, so it is suitable for application in acidic soil.
(4) After insoluble phosphate fertilizer is applied into soil, it is mainly dissolved by soil acid, and becomes a form that can be used by crops.Suitable for acid soil, used as base fertilizer,
also can be used with organic fertilizer heap rot or with chemical acid, physiological acid fertilizer.
