Types of encapsulants in NPK fertilizer production line

2020-01-15
Wrapping materials are used in the NPK fertilizer production line and production of controlled release fertilizers. For the specific types of wrapping materials, we will see below.
NPK fertilizer production line

According to the classification of raw materials, it can be roughly divided into six types.
1. Hydrophobic substance type anti-caking agent, such as paraffin, diesel, kerosene, etc. These are hydrophobic substances. This substance can form a water-resistant layer on the surface of fertilizer particles, which has a certain anti-caking effect.

2. inert material --- surfactant compound anti-caking agent, like this kind of encapsulant can combine mechanical isolation and reduce the surface tension of fertilizer, the effect is very good.

3. The mixture of high molecular homopolymer and high molecular surfactant is used to solubilize water-soluble or water-insoluble polymers in a concentrated solution of the surfactant to form a complex.

4. Some inorganic salts and some high-molecular polymers can be combined with the moisture in the fertilizer particles. In the process of fertilizer particle formation, the problem of fertilizer particle agglomeration can be solved by changing the physical properties of the fertilizer particles.

5. Various types of surfactants, such as anionic and cationic surfactants. These surfactants change the fertilizer particles from hydrophilic to hydrophobic, thereby preventing water exchange, protecting the particles from external environmental moisture, reducing the surface tension of the solution, and thereby reducing capillary phenomena.

6. A material that is similar to an inert substance we just mentioned is an inert material, such as talc, diatomaceous earth, etc. The main role of this material is to prevent the fertilizer from absorbing moisture and to keep a certain distance from the neighboring fertilizer particles to prevent the agglomeration of the fertilizer particles.

The above are some of the wrapping materials we often use in production. Which kind of wrapping material is more suitable depends on the type of fertilizer material and the requirements of the fertilizer manufacturing process.
