Extrusion granulation process in NPK fertilizer production process

 The production of NPK compound fertilizer can be completed by various processes. For example, blending method, extrusion method, and acid method can produce compound fertilizers, and they have different characteristics. Take the extrusion granulation equipment as an example to illustrate the characteristics of its production process.

When used in production, extrusion granulation equipment generally extrudes the material into sheets of a specified thickness or is pressed into pieces and then broken into granules. Sometimes the material is first pressed into strips or columns and then broken into pellets.

Tests have shown that the selection of suitable raw materials and their ratios during NPK fertilizer production is an important factor in the production of high-quality extruded fertilizers. Some raw materials can be mixed and extruded according to their respective characteristics. There are still some materials that do not have such extrusion properties, which require us to carry out the extrusion test before production, in order to obtain the relevant processes and methods for processing the materials based on the test data.

Investment in extrusion granulation equipment is lower than in other fertilizer granulator machine, because of the shorter process and less equipment used in production. It does not need heating or humidification in its production, which saves energy and saves investment; no waste gas or waste water is produced in the NPK fertilizer production process, it is safe and pollution-free; because of its simple process, it is particularly simple and convenient to operate, and can achieve better production automated control and increase production efficiency.

However, there is still a disadvantage in the extrusion granulation equipment, that it cannot produce large-yield production and its particle shape is not as good as that of the compound fertilizer equipment such as drum granulator and disc granulator, and it is easy to generate dust during transportation, but these all can be avoid by adding processing links during the production process. In general, extrusion granulation equipment is ideal for NPK compound fertilizer production.
